Kennel Deutsch-Langhaars have been hunted on nearly all types of both upland game and waterfowl in north america with excellent results. The trainability of the Langhaar,which results from breeders selcting for coperation,makes them a dog that hunt in the grouse forests,open grasslands as well as wetlands and waters.

One of the most important traits of the Deutsch-Langhaar is work after the shot. They excell at the recovery of wounded game both in the field and in the water.
